No need for third Pfizer dose: Doctor

Muscat: Two doses of the Pfizer vaccine against COVID-19 are effective, and rumours for the need of a third dose are baseless, a consultant for infectious diseases said on Wednesday.

Dr Zakaria Al Balushi, infectious disease consultant at the Royal Hospital, further told Times of Oman: "So far, there have been no recommendations based on clinical trials."

The doctor added that the Pfizer vaccine is effective against the Indian variant, too.
