Over 1% of Omani population have disabilities: Statistics

Muscat: The number of  persons with disabilities in Oman exceeded 42,000 in 2020.

According to data from the electronic census 2020, the number of Omani persons with disabilities reached 42,304, constituting 1.55 per cent of the total Omani population .

The rate of persons with disabilities was about 15.5 per thousand of the Omani population at the level of the Sultanate, where the highest rate was in Al Dhahirah Governorate with 18.5 per thousand, and the lowest was in Al Wusta Governorate at 10.1 per thousand, according to the Bulletin of Persons with Disabilities issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).
