Muscat: Oman took part in the 13th session of the Executive Office of the Council of Arab Information Ministers.
A statement issued online by Oman News Agency said that the session, chaired by Iraq, was held at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States. Oman was represented by Ali bin Khalfan Al Jabri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information.
The draft agenda for the 51st session of the Council of Arab Information Ministers to be held on Wednesday, headed by Sudan, was discussed. This included the adoption of the recommendations made by the Permanent Committee for Arab Media at the conclusion of its 95th session, which was held in Cairo on Sunday, which is to be submitted to the council on Wednesday for approval.
Ambassador Ahmed Rashid Khattabi, Assistant Secretary-General Supervising the Media and Communication Sector at the Arab League, said an atmosphere of consensus among the representatives prevailed during the meeting, when the Palestinian cause, a priority of the council, was also discussed.
