Cancer research centre to begin trial operation in Oman

Muscat: The Sultan Qaboos Comprehensive Cancer Care and Research Centre will start trial operation next month.

"Sultan Qaboos Comprehensive Cancer Care and Research Centre will start in mid-July the trial operation and reception of patients. It is built on an area of 54,000 square meters and includes about 300 rooms and beds and three hospitalisation suites," Oman News Agency (ONA) said in a statement.

ONA added that the centre includes diagnostic, therapeutic and academic specialties, including: radiology, interventional radiology, radiotherapy, genetics, specialised surgery, laparoscopic surgery, oncology, medical and research laboratories, and basic services for the care of oncology patients.
