Oman's Ministry of Defence launches e-governance programmes

Muscat: Ministry of Defence agencies celebrated the launch of its electronic programmes.

A statement issued by the Oman News Agency said that, on Thursday, the Ministry of Defence at the Ministry of Defence Pension Fund theatre celebrated the launch of a number of electronic programmes under the patronage of His Excellency Dr Mohammed bin Nasser bin Ali Al Zaabi, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Defence.

Brigadier General Yahya bin Saeed Al Wadhahi, head of the project's steering committee, gave a speech in which he stressed that this project, which was completed by Omani cadres from the Ministry of Defence, comes within the framework of the government's plan for digital transformation to e-governance, which the Ministry has worked to translate into reality.

This was followed by a film viewing that dealt with the planning stages and the continuous efforts being made by the work teams to achieve the goals that these programmes seek to translate.

His Excellency the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Defence, and the sponsor of the occasion, officially inaugurated this project.

The event was attended by retired Minister Mohammed bin Nasser Al Rasbi, Vice Admiral Abdullah Khamis al-Raisi, Chief of Staff of the Sultan's Armed Forces, Major General Matar bin Salim Al Balushi, Commander of the Royal Army of Oman, Air Vice Marshal Khamis Hamad al-Ghafri, Commander of the Royal Air Force of Oman, Acting Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman, a number of senior officers of the Sultan's Armed Forces and other departments of the Ministry of Defence, and a number of senior officers from other military and security agencies.
