Enjoy Muscat's green parks

With the reopening of  the parks, parents in town heave a sigh of relief as their children who had been stuck at home for long can now experience the sort of happiness you only get from physical play.   Visit the Qurum Natural Park for a breath of fresh air. And as you wander along the park’s winding paths, admire the beautiful manicured lawns that are adorned with fountains and an artificial waterfall, and the surrounding natural reserve filled with mangroves. The lush greenery at Al Sahwa Public Garden beckons all. Located in Mabela, next to the Burj A’Sahwa roundabout the vast expanses of  green grass provide ample opportunity for children to play to their heart’s content.  There are many play areas, picnic spots, gazebos and running paths. This weekend, visit one of these parks in town but ensure that you follow all the COVID-19 protocols that are required to ensure the safety of all and minimise the spread of COVID-19 in the country.

Trek in Sidab
If you love trekking. this weekend, trek the mountain paths and the stunning coastline of Sidab. Start before sunrise so that you can watch the breathtaking view of the rising sun. While trekking you might cross rugged mountain passes and steep slopes. Ensure that you take enough safety measures. Trekking in Sidab also gives you the opportunity to soak in the stunning views of old Muscat. This trail offers a panoramic view of the ocean and  you can see a part of Muttrah Sea Road.

Go for a drive in old Muscat
This weekend if you are not in a mood for long off-road drives why not enjoy the beauty of Muscat on a drive? Start from Darsait and proceed to Muttrah Corniche, and watch the culture and heritage of old Muscat unravel before you as you pass the historical monuments, harbours, museums, parks, Al Alam Palace, the Sidab fishing village, Marina Bandhar Al Rowdha, and more.

What’s Coming to Netflix?
On June 11, watch 'Lupin (Part 2)', the biggest international Netflix Original of all time. 'Skater Girl'  is a coming-of-age sports drama about a teenage girl in Rajasthan who discovers skateboarding. 'Wish Dragon', Netflix’s second major acquisition from Sony Pictures Animation in 2021, and directed by Chris Appelhans follows a young boy who gets visited by a wish-granting dragon. For those who have access to Zee5 must watch 'Sunflower' where the talented comedian Sunil Grover, makes his debut in the OTT space. Other cast includes Ranvir Shorey, Girish Kulkarni, Ashish Vidyarthi and Mukul Chadda and the  plot will follow a murder mystery, with a quirky twist.

Watch 'A Quiet Place: Part II', starring Emily Blunt, Noah Jupe, Djimon Hounsou and Cillian Murphy is about the Abbott family that face the terrors of the outside world. Forced to venture into the unknown, they realise that the creatures that hunt by sound are not the only threats that lurk beyond the sand path. 'The Ride' starring Shane Graham, Ludacris, and Sasha Alexander is an inspiring story of a BMX champion who overcame an abusive childhood through the love and life lessons of his foster family.
