Muscat: Lactating women and those who are planning to conceive can also take the COVID-19 vaccine if they are among the target groups and have no other contraindications to vaccination, said the Ministry of Health (MOH).
A statement issued online by the MOH said: "The vaccine can be given to lactating women if they are among the target groups and have no other contraindications to vaccination. It is not recommended to stop breastfeeding when taking the vaccine.”
MOH added that the vaccine can also be given to women who are planning to become pregnant if they are among the target groups and have no other contraindications to vaccination. There is no need to leave any time between taking the vaccine and conceiving.
