Muscat: The Minister of Health held a meeting to review the National Strategy for Immunisation
A statement issued online by the Ministry of Health said that His Excellency Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Saidi, Minister of Health presided over, on Wednesday, an expanded meeting to review the National Strategy for Immunisation against Covid-19 via videoconference.
The meeting was attended by the Ministry of Health's undersecretaries along with a number of senior officials of the Ministry and from the governorates.
The Minister of Health applauded the efforts of all health workers during the Covid-19 pandemic, stressing that everyone had played a significant role in providing the required healthcare for all patients in general and the patients infected with coronavirus in particular. He pointed out that His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik appreciated all efforts of the health workers.
Al-Saidi reviewed the general features of the National Strategy for Immunisation against Covid 19-, referring that despite the community response for the vaccination campaign, the coverage rate in the governorates is varying due to the concerns of some elder people and parents.
Bader bin Saif Al-Rawahi, Director of Communicable Diseases Control provided a presentation on vaccinating the target groups during the next weeks, as well as the number of received and under procurement vaccines.
