Oman, EU discuss bilateral relations

Muscat: The second session of political consultations between the Foreign Ministry and the  European External Action Service (EEAS) was held on Tuesday via videoconferencing.

Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Harthy, Undersecretary for Diplomatic Affairs at the Foreign Ministry chaired the Omani side to the session, while from the European side it was chaired by Enrique Mora, Deputy Secretary General of the European External Action Service.

The session reviewed the bilateral relations between the Sultanate and the EU and ways of their enhancement and development for the joint interest of both sides. The session also exchanged views on the regional and international issues of common concern and the latest developments in the region.

The session saw the participation of Najim bin Sulaiman Al Abri, the Sultanate’s ambassador to Belgium and the European Union; Patrick Simonnet,  the  European Union’s Ambassador to the Sultanate and a number of officials from the two sides.
