Muscat: The MSX index closed at 3,852.61 points, up 0.42 per cent from the previous close.
The Sharia Index ended up 0.74 per cent at 557.51 points. Salalah Mills, up 7.33 per cent, was the top gainer while Al Omaniya Financial Bonds, down 14.29 per cent, was the top loser. Shares of Al Omaniya Financial Service were the most active in terms of the number of shares traded while Al Anwar Ceramic was the most active in terms of turnover.
A total number of 789 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating a turnover of OMR3 million, with more than 13 million shares changing hands. Out of 47 traded stocks, 14 advanced, 11 declined and 22 remained unchanged. At the session close, foreign investors were net sellers for OMR321,000 while GCC & Arab investors were net buyers for OMR204,000 followed by local investors for OMR117,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 5,979.84 points, up 0.46 per cent. Al Madina Investment, Al Omaniya Financial Service, Ahli Bank and Sohar International Bank were down 4.76 per cent, 3.57 per cent, 2.78 per cent and 1.15 per cent respectively. Al Anwar Investment, Madina Takaful and Bank Muscat were down 1.10 per cent, 1.05 per cent and 0.51 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 5,548.54 points, up 0.57 per cent. Salalah Mills, National Aluminum Product, Jazeera Steel Product, Al Maha Ceramic and Al Anwar Ceramic were up 7.33 per cent, 2.99 per cent, 1.61 per cent, 0.61 per cent and 0.42 per cent respectively. Galfar Engineering was the only loser by 2.04 per cent.
Services Index was up by 0.12 per cent closing at 1,621.85 points. Al Jazeera Service, Oman Telecommunication, Ooredoo, Shell Oman Marketing and Renaissance Service were up 1.04 per cent, 1.03 per cent, 1.01 per cent, 1.00 per cent and 0.48 per cent respectively. Phoenix Power, Sembcorp Salalah and National Gas were down 2.08 per cent, 1.25 per cent and 0.68 per cent respectively.
