OCCI and Chinese Ambassador hold meeting in Oman

Muscat: A meeting was held between the Chairman of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), and the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China accredited to Oman, to discuss the mechanism of work of the Oman-China Joint Business Council.

A statement issued online by the OCCI, said: "Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry chaired by His Excellency Eng. Ridha bin Jumah Al Saleh, Chairman of the Chamber’s Board of Directors, held a meeting with HE Li Lingping, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China accredited to the Sultanate to discuss the mechanism of work of the Oman-China Joint Business Council."

"The meeting was attended by Hamad Al Sulaimi, Chairman of Oman-China Joint Business Council from the Omani side, and His Excellency Dr. Khaled Al-Saeedi, Chairman of Oman-China Friendship Association, and also included Al Lujaina bint Mohsen Haider Darwish, the Honorary President of the Society, along with the members of the Chinese Embassy and the Chamber's executive apparatus," OCCI added.

HE Li Lingping, explained that Oman and China have many economic and investment aspects that reflect the friendly relationship between the two countries, and this is what led to the presence of Chinese projects in Sohar, Duqm, Muscat and a number of governorates of Oman.

HE Eng. Ridha bin Jumah Al Saleh, indicated the necessity to move forward and activate the role of the Oman-China Joint Business Council, and to participate in investment opportunities, through trade fairs with the participation of various relevant parties.

"The meeting also reviewed the role of Oman-China Friendship Association in promoting the cultural and economic relations between the two countries," added the statement.
