Over 2,000 new Omani teachers to be appointed soon

Muscat: The Ministry of Education will appoint more than 20,00 new Omani teachers for the academic year 2021 - 2022.

A statement issued online by Oman News Agency, (ONA), said: “The Ministry of Education announced that it is in the process of finalisng the appointment of 2,733 new teachers for the next academic year 2021 - 2022. The candidates are a mix of current year Omani graduates who have taken the written exam, and those who have been on the waiting lists from the previous years.”

"An official source at the Ministry of Education stated that the names of the new teachers to be appointed will be announced before the end of June, after completion of relevant administrative procedures,” continued the statement.

The source indicated that the number of teachers employed may increase until the start of the next academic year due to Omanisation processes across disciplines.
