Save Globe Fest 2021 held

Muscat: Department of Mechanical Industrial Engineering in association with Student Affairs Office, College of Engineering, National University of Science and Technology organised the Save Globe Fest 2021 recently through a virtual platform (Google meet).

The objective of this event is to provide a forum for the young emerging brains to display and discuss their ideas on Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle (RRR) of wastes/plastics and to acquire a novel solution for the current environmental issues. It is series of events viz., (1) Project presentation (2) Video making competition (3) Quiz Competition and (4) Essay competition with topics focusing more on the Globe and the atmosphere.

Save Globe Fest 2021 was initiated by Professor Ahmed Al Balushi, the Dean of College of Engineering as a CSR for the benefit of the students' community and society.

The event was inaugurated by Engineer Muadh Al Subhi, the managing director of Rassen Pet Food Factory and in his speech he was emphasizing on the responsibility of each individual to save the planet by a proper balance with nature.

Professor A Vallavaraj, Assistant Dean, Undergraduate studies conveyed his best wishes to all the participants and insisted the students take up novel projects in the domain of waste to energy. Professor Sudhir, head of the department of mechanical and industrial engineering welcomed the gatherings.

The online event was attended by more than 60 students and has shown stupendous performance with more zeal and enthusiasm. A total of 500 OMR cash awards have been bagged by the students in Save Globe Fest 2021. The Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering congratulates all participants and winners and thank the management, executives and the entire team of Save Globe Fest 2021 for a marvellous performance.
