70% of population needs to be vaccinated for pandemic to end: WHO

Muscat: The World Health Organization says that the COVID-19 pandemic will not end before 70 per cent of the world's population is vaccinated, Oman TV said.

 "The director of WHO is concerned about the emergence of more contagious variants of the coronavirus," the agency said. 

Single-dose vaccine approved

Oman News Agency also announced that the British Medicines Regulatory Authority has approved the use of a single dose of the Johnson and Johnson vaccine to combat coronavirus.
