New guidelines for PCR tests in Oman

Muscat: The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has modified the duration of the PCR requirement for Covid-19 for all comers.

A circular issued online by Civil Aviation Authority, (CAA), said: " Based on coordination with the health authorities in Oman, the Civil Aviation Authority would like to inform all airlines operating in the Sultanate of the following:
“The period of pre-travel negative COVID-19 PCR test has been amended for long international flights (not less than 8 hours including transit), the test is to be conducted within 96 hours prior to the scheduled time of arrival in Oman. The requirement for a negative COVID-19 PCR test for shorter flights remains, to be conducted within 72 hours.”
“Omani Citizens who test positive after recovering from COVID-19 are allowed to travel to the Sultanate if they provide proof that they have completed the prescribed quarantine period before taking the COVID-19 PCR test prior to their departure to Oman,” the statement added.
“The other entry requirements as stipulated in previous circulars will remain valid,” CAA added.
