Southern winds to cause temperature rise in parts of Oman

Muscat: Due to active southern winds, there may be chances of dust storms and increased temperatures ranging between 46 - 48 degrees Celsius in some parts of the Sultanate.

A statement issued online by Oman Meteorology said: "Currently active southern wind has been detected in the Al Wusta Governorate and may affect the governorates of Al Buraimi, Al Dhahirah, North and South Al Batinah, and parts of Al Dakhiliyah, which may lead to dust storms accompanied by a rise in temperatures between 46 - 48 degrees Celsius on the plains and coasts of North and South Al Batinah in the afternoon."
