Muscat: Egyptian security delegations will start visiting Gaza and contacting the Israeli side to ensure that the two sides adhere to the ceasefire and abide by the truce, Oman News Agency (ONA) said.

According to the agency, after the ceasefire agreement came into effect, 9 martyrs were pulled from the rubble in the Gaza Strip, and rescue teams are still searching for five, including a child.

The Oman News Agency said: “Since the beginning of the crisis that broke out between the Palestinian and Israeli sides in Gaza, Egypt has undertaken diplomatic activity with the aim of reaching a truce, which was successful and entered into force today, in addition to continuing coordination with other countries to pressure the Israeli side to reach a ceasefire."

Dr. Muhammad Fayez Farhat, a political expert and head of the Al Ahram Center for Political Studies, said in an interview with ONA that there are no 100% full guarantees. Because the armistice is related to the ceasefire and is not related to a settlement process and does not contain a political content, as it deals with the process of stopping the violence

He added, "It cannot be ruled out that other crises will occur if conditions exist for renewed conflict or the outbreak of a major crisis."

The political expert emphasized that the Egyptian role will remain the only main guarantee for the consolidation of this truce, and the matter will not depend on the agreement of the two parties to accept the truce, but as is known, Egyptian security delegations will begin to visit Gaza and contact the Israeli side to ensure that the two sides adhere to the ceasefire and abide by the truce.
