We Love Oman: Breathtaking view of Niyabat Khadrafi

Niyabat Khadrafi in Dhofar region is on the border near the Republic of Yemen. It has a beautiful view overlooking the Arabian Sea and has Dribat Ali, which is a beautiful tourist attraction. On the northern side of Niyabat Khadrafi is Jabal Sarfrit, in the Wilayat of Dalkut, and the Wilayat’s population density is concentrated there.

Sheikh Salem bin Ahmed Raafit, Deputy Wali of Dhalkut in Niyabat Khadrafi, said that Niyabat Khadrafi is distinguished by its unique strategic location that overlooks the beautiful views of the Arabian Sea, making it a tourist destination.

He added that during the autumn season, beautiful clouds form on the Jabal Sarfrit, which gives an elegant view and attracts many visitors, artists and photographers. He explained that  Niyabat Khadrafi has  springs of fresh water such as Ain Deem, Ain Dhabil, Ain Sarfait, Ain Khadravi, Ain Goud, Akoub, Farqnout, Ain Baal Oud and Haylof, and it has many ancient archaeological caves that were in the past full of visitors, as the inhabitants used to visit these caves with their animals to take shelter from the rain, wind and cold. The caves of Dirbet, Hossum, Dharrout, Menaaramat, Shirchiti, Hithil and Parmadhath Cave are all large caves that can accommodate many people.

He pointed out that many families still keep their old heritage houses made of tree trunks and grass that showcase the beautiful Dhofari heritage. These houses have visitors who are discovery enthusiasts or  tourists. The Al Kadi trees are the fence that protect the grazing animals and prevent them from extinction.

The most important commercial activities for the residents of Niyabat Khadrafi, like other residents of the Dhofar Mountains, is  livestock trade and its requirements of fodder in addition to the agricultural and animal activity practiced by the residents. They also take good care of seasonal crops, for example, corn and cowpea, which is locally called (Baldjar), during  autumn.

The crop has a big market at the end of December every year. Every year Khadrafi crops of corn or cowpea is characterised by the large size of the grain and the purity of the crop, as stated by the deputy governor of Dhalkoot.

Niyabat Khadrafi is distinguished by its beautiful pastures and the diversity of its plants, which is why natural mountain honey becomes a source of income for many professionals  from natural mountain apiaries from the inside caves, valleys and beehives hanging on trees, when the natural honey season begins after the end October as usual.

Salem bin Ahmed Raafit, Deputy Wali of Dalkut in the Niyabat Khadrafi said that the wilayat have received many services since the beginning of the renaissance and have, like other regions in the Sultanate, their share of development and construction.

The umbrella of services provided by the government included paved roads linked to all neighbouring villages and all internal paved roads, providing the area with water lines and internal lighting for residential neighbourhoods and public streets, as well as schools and it is equipped with all the necessary educational supplies.
