GCC officials meet to discuss Covid
Muscat: The Undersecretaries of Ministries of Health in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states convened today their 17th meeting to discuss the latest development of the coronavirus pandemic regionally and globally.

The Ministry of Health (MOH), said " As part of the ongoing consultation and joint action amid the Covid-19 pandemic, the Undersecretaries of ministries of health in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states convened today (Tuesday) their 17th meeting to discuss the latest development of the coronavirus pandemic regionally and globally.

During the meeting, a number of related issues have been discussed including standardization of terminologies and procedures that would facilitate the movement of citizens between the GCC states.
In view of the quality and effectiveness of the vaccines using in the GCC countries, the meeting touched upon the adoption of all the vaccines giving to the citizens and residents in the GCC states in order to facilitate their movement between the countries. In addition, the meeting also highlighted the requirements of vaccinating the pilgrims and the conditions of their entering into Saudi Arabia.
Furthermore, the meeting discussed the requirements of the health passport and studying the gene sequencing test for Covid-19 samples. Standard procurement of vaccines in the event of giving extra doses according to the global recommendations has been addressed during the meeting.

During the meeting, it was agreed that the vaccinated person is the one who received the two doses of the adopted vaccines (he/ she took the second dose after 14 days of the first one), as well as the one who recovered from covid-19 after 14 days of receiving the first dose.

It was also agreed to approve the electronic platforms in each country to prove the vaccination status and tests result."
