Muscat Municipality staff on strike

Muscat: A number of Muscat Municipality staff went on strike yesterday demanding the return of 2011 upgrades granted to them earlier. The upgrades were withdrawn recently in a decision putting the employees in a lower wage bracket and cutting the upgrades benefits. A Muscat Municipality official refused to comment clarifying that this is not internal matter as the decision was taken by another authority.
