Truck Oman adds rest cabins to its fleet

Muscat: Truck Oman North LLC, a Truckoman Group company, has added to its fleet several 40 foot skid mounted rest cabins with the intention to provide their employees and customers with a secure and dedicated area for relief and rest from the scorching summer heat whilst working in the desert.

These mobile air-conditioned units are equipped with water coolers, a counter-top to facilitate preparation of hot beverages, and restroom facilities.

“Our intention is to ensure our employees, subcontractors, and customers are protected from the intense heat, high winds, and dust during their rest periods in Khazzan concession, Governorates of Dhahirah, as part of our internal corporate social responsibility policy,” said Masoud Shukairy, the general manager of Truckoman North.

“These cabins have also assisted the company in the implementation of the decisions of the Supreme Committee by providing training to our employees on the dangers and processes related to COVID-19 while ensuring social distancing is implemented in a comfortable and safe environment,” he added.

“Having mobile cabins has enabled us to provide these facilities even in the most remote areas without the need for employees to travel long distances during working hours for rest resulting in the increase of employee commitment to the company and increase in their productivity,” stated the Group Commercial Manager for Truckoman, Thomas P Varghese.

“Additionally, we are now able to store the necessary personal protective equipment to ensure the safety of our employees while protecting the environment by collecting all the waste and safeguarding the pristine nature of the desert,” he added.
