Muscat: The tropical depression at the Arabian Sea has developed into a tropical storm, Oman Meteorology said on Saturday.
A statement issued online by Oman Meteorology said:” Weather updates of the tropical storm, Tauktae, which is pronounced as Tau'Te, in the Arabian Sea.”
The statement pointed out that the wind speed around the center of the tropical storm is 34- 47 knots and the distance between the tropical storm and the Sultanate’s costs is 1670 km.
The Nearest convective clouds band from the costs is 1150 km and its direction is north to north-west.
The name of the tropical storm has been called Tauktae pronounced Tau Te in the Myanmar language.
