Ministry of Health issues guidelines for companies to reserve vaccines for their employees
Muscat: Companies and institutions in the private sector wishing to reserve quantities for the vaccination of their employees must contract with one of the private hospitals or clinics authorised by the Ministry to give vaccines, the Ministry of Health said.
A circular issued by the Ministry of Health to the executive heads and directors of companies and institutions in the private sector said that, with reference to the initiative of some companies to support national efforts to confront the pandemic by contributing to bearing the cost of vaccinating their employees and workers, and in order to organise procedures for providing and administering the vaccine in the private sector in accordance with the conditions and technical requirements necessary to ensure the safety of the vaccine recipient, the following has been decided:
1- Companies and institutions wishing to reserve quantities for the vaccination of their employees must contract with one of the private hospitals or clinics authorised by the Ministry to give vaccines, noting that the vaccines are disbursed through the private health institution referred to above.

2- With regard to the sectors and institutions that have private clinics for their employees and in which the qualified medical staff and the necessary emergency means are available and the appropriate preservation conditions are met for the vaccine, the vaccine will be disbursed directly to these authorities after fulfilling all the requirements specified by the Ministry of Health.

3- The price of a single dose has been set at 20 OMR from Pfizer (including the prices of serum, solution and needle), provided that the price of administering the vaccine in private hospitals is 3 OMR per dose as a maximum.

4- Vaccine reservation requests from health companies and institutions shall be submitted on the attached form available at the online link https://forms.gle/quKvkkrUneYyFYTT9 - after providing all the required data and paying the prescribed fees for each type of vaccine to the bank account no. 1016125105001, at the National Bank of Oman, allocated to the COVID-19 Pandemic Vaccine Fund.
5- Disbursal of the quantities that are booked will start with effect from the beginning of June 2021, after receiving the Sultanate’s requirements for the private sector institutions.
6- It is prohibited for companies benefiting from this service to sell or export the vaccine outside the Sultanate and to benefit from it financially in any way.
