Muscat: The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources has issued directives to support farmers and people in the wilayat of Al Khaboura affected by thunderstorms and adverse weather in the past few days.
A statement issued online by Oman News Agency (ONA) said: "His Excellency Dr. Saud bin Hamoud Al Habsi, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, accompanied by His Excellency Sheikh Saif bin Humayr Al Shehi, Governor of North Al Batinah, visited Al Khaboura to inspect the damage that the wilayat suffered as a result of the climatic conditions."
His Excellency was briefed on the damage that occurred to citizens' farms and greenhouses, in addition to the fish market in the wilayat and His Excellency directed to remove tree and palm waste from the affected farms and to provide support to farmers and those affected. He said in a statement to the Oman News Agency: "This visit is to inspect the conditions and list the damages that resulted from the weather conditions that the state was exposed to in cooperation with other government agencies."
