MTCIT announces investment opportunity for two ports in Oman

Muscat: The Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology has invited investors to submit their proposals to manage, operate and develop Port Khasab and Port Shinas.

These investment opportunities have included the land plots owned by these ports provided with many facilitations and features, including services in anchoring points and running shipping lines between Oman and global ports. Additionally, maintenance and ship services, catering and free markets activities will be allowed.

Port Khasab is featured with a strategic location near Hurmuz straight and considered an active commercial artery in Tourism and commerce. Additionally, the port is equipped with basic infrastructures such as breakwater and commercial berths to withstand the growing flow with markets from the neighboring countries. Occasionally, the port receives many touristic boats and cruises visiting the Governorate of Musandam.

Port Shinas is one of the vital ports for revitalizing domestic commerce between N.Al Batinah Governorate and Musandam Governorate regarding fishing, livestock trade, agriculture products, and goods. Additionally, ferries utilize the port to run domestic trips to Musandam ports (Khasab, Lima, Deba).

The Ministry invites all interested investors based on a concession agreement to e-mail their proposals to the Director-General of Ports at The Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology at [email protected] no later than 20th of June 2021.
