Weather warning issued for Oman, residents urged to take caution

Muscat: The Civil Defence and  Ambulance Authority (CDAA) has urged citizens and residents to be careful during the air depression and heavy rainfall which is currently impacting some governorates of the Sultanate.

A statement issued online by the CDAA said: “Current runoff in some wadis of Wilayat Rustaq, Wadi Bani Ghafir, Wadi Bani Auf, Wadi Al Sahtan, please be careful and do not take risks.”

The statement urged people to not try crossing wadis while they are flowing and to stay away from wadis and low places.

“Avoid frequenting the sea and secure fishing boats and loose materials tightly. Also avoid approaching the edges of wadis and heights. Pay attention to your children and do not allow them to approach bodies of water,” the statement added.

The Civil Defence and  Ambulance Authority asked citizens and residents to follow the weather forecasts from their official sources and to call emergency numbers if necessary at 9999 or 24343666.
