Two convicted for possession of hunting binoculars and silencers of unlicensed weapons
Muscat: A fine of OMR 1,000 has been imposed on two citizens for possessing hunting binoculars and silencers of unlicensed weapons, the Environment Authority has said.

A statement issued online by the Environment Authority said, "The Thumrait Court of First Instance has convicted two citizens of the misdemeanor of possessing hunting binoculars and silencers of unlicensed weapons, and has fined them an amount of OMR 1,000 and confiscated the seizures. It has also acquitted two others on the charges against them in the same case. The Environment Authority had previously filed a lawsuit against the defendants over the case of wildlife hunting."

"The authority calls on everyone to preserve the wildlife and not to be exposed to it so that they are not subject to legal accountability," the statement added.
