Muscat: France midfielder Paul Pogba has gifted all of his teammates who won the 2018 FIFA World Cup NBA-style championship rings to commemorate their triumph.
The rings were made by bespoke Los Angeles jeweller Jason of Beverly Hills, and feature the symbol of the Fédération Française de Football, a rooster on France’s red, white and blue tricolour. On these rings, the rooster and the two stars that represent France’s two World Cup triumphs have been cast in gold, while the tricolour’s stripes have been replaced by precious stones of the same colour.
“For first time in sports history, we are proud to unveil the French World Cup Championship Ring,” said jewellers Jason of Beverly Hills. “Hands down the biggest sporting event in the world and we are proud to be part of it. Thank you Paul Pogba and everyone involved for allowing us to be involved in this piece of sports history.”

This creation, which is surrounded by two circular diamond arrangements, is then mounted onto an NBA-style championship ring, which is given to winners of the US National Basketball Association championship, with the words ‘World Champions’ embossed in big, bold letters on the sides.
On one side of the ring is a representation of the World Cup, along with all of France’s knockout game scores. To personalise these rings, the other side of the ring has the individual names of the player to whom the ring belongs, above a map of France.
France beat Argentina 4-3 in the Round of 16 and Uruguay 2-0 in the quarters before overcoming Belgium 1-0 in the semis, on the way to beating Croatia 4-2 in the World Cup Final.
Blaise Matuidi, who plays for Juventus, and was part of that World Cup winning squad, thanked Pogba for his gift, saying it was an “unforgettable gift for an unforgettable memory. Thank you from my heart to the heart of the jeweller, Paul Pogba.”
