Oman Cancer Association appoints new director

Muscat: Effective 1 May 2021, Faiqa bint Ali Al Sinawi assumed the role of Director of the Oman Cancer Association.

This is a newly created position with Al Sinawi being the first in the association’s 21 -year-history to be appointed to the role. She will report directly to the Board of Directors, who have been assigned as per the elections held on March 31, 2021.

Her responsibilities will include supervision of the Association’s flagship initiatives: the Mobile Mammography Unit (MMU) and Dar Al Hanan (DH) as well as tracking policy implementation across the sectors OCA engages in, in close coordination with the relevant government authorities, our sponsors and partners, as well as management of all programmes and projects underway and forecast for the next 5 years.

Sinawi has been affiliated with OCA since 2011 and was a member of the board for five of those years (2016-2021).

Her training in active health care deliverance service has covered Oman, Jordan, Bahrain and the United Kingdom. She has a Masters Degree in Nursing from Queen Margaret University, UK.

Sinawi brings with her 28 years of experience at the Ministry of Health. She has extensive experience in nursing, administration and planning in several regions across the Sultanate with the last position held being Director of the School and University health for Oman at the Ministry of Health.
