Muscat: The Authority for Public Services Regulation organized a workshop on light bulbs and lighting technologies.
A statement online issued by the Authority for Public Services Regulation said: ” The authority organized a workshop on the first of April 2021 for companies in the manufacture, distribution and retail sale of general lighting lamps in the Sultanate, on the subject of light bulbs and lighting technologies. The workshop is part of the authority's efforts to formulate a national policy to start phasing out ineffective lights in terms of energy. As well as to adopt a program to implement the development of necessary regulations that would limit the manufacture, import, or sale of ineffective public lighting lamps in the Sultanate. A number of companies attended the virtual workshop which provided them with an overview of the phasing out of inefficient lighting initiative.”
“The workshop included an explanation of a questionnaire that was developed to gain a deeper insight into the Omani lighting market” the statement added.
