MUSCAT: The National University of Science and Technology has announced the opening of admission and registration for the academic year 2021/2022.
The study will begin in September 2021 in the various programmes of engineering, pharmacy and medicine including Doctor of Medicine, Bachelor pharmacy, Bachelor of Engineering programmes in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Power Engineering, Process operation and Maintenance Engineering, Bachelor of Science in Quantity Surveying and Cost Management, and Bachelor of IT Management for Business (ITMB).
The National University also announced several master programmes that are being offered in cooperation with Glasgow Caledonian University, United Kingdom and the University of South Carolina, United States. These programs include Master in Asset and Maintenance Management, Master in Construction Management, Master of Science in Supply Chain Management and International Operations, Master of Science in Process Engineering, Master of Science in Electrical Engineering and Master of Science in Information Technology with three sub-disciplines: Cloud Computing, Big Data and Internet of Things, Advanced computer networks and cybersecurity.
On behalf of the family of the National University of Science and Technology, Dr Ali Al-Bimani - Vice Chancellor of the University, stated, "We are very pleased and looking forward to welcoming our new students in September 2021 at the National University who are going to enrol in the NU academic programmes in medicine, pharmacy, health sciences and engineering at its various branches, as well as in master programmes."
Dr Ali Al-Bimani said that the NU is distinguished by its focus on postgraduate studies programmes and scientific research in many fields in where the university emphasis on pursuing scientific research is driven by development plans in the Sultanate which coincides with Oman 2040 Vision aims to achieve the maximum scientific research possible support. The National University accorded high priority to the field training, qualify students for the labour market and prepare them for professional life systematically and accurately. Indeed, we are working hard to encourage entrepreneurship through the entrepreneurship club at the College of Engineering.
Dr Salim Al-Arimi - Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Provost of the University said, "We hope that the new academic year will be a wonderful year free of the corona, and we will work hard to provide every effort for a safe study environment free from any difficulties."
Dr Salim also emphasised that every student should strive to choose the appropriate programmes for his/her future and the university has provided an integrated work team in the Admission and Registration Department to cover all the student needs in terms of information and support.
The number of students at National University reached 4,000 male and female student) of 33 nationalities enrolled in 17 programmes at the bachelor and master levels in 4 campuses of the National University; the University’s campus in Bawshar (headquarters and the College of Pharmacy), Sohar campus (College of Medicine and Science), Al-Hail South campus (Faculty of Engineering) and the university campus in the Airport Heights (Foundation Studies Center), which makes it a truly global university.
