First cases of Indian Covid-19 strain detected in France

Muscat: The French Health ministry announced late on Thursday that officials had recorded the first case of Covid-19 involving the B.1.617 variant, originating from India, in a person living in southwestern France after returning from India.

According to Oman News Agency, the particular strain of the novel coronavirus was detected in a person who had returned from India. Global news agencies reported that two more people who travelled to India and returned to southwestern France were infected with the same strain.
