Muscat: Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik on Tuesday issued a Royal Decree reading as follows:
Royal Decree No. 40/2021 amends the annex attached to Royal Decree No. 124/2008 on establishing Oman Human Rights Commission and determining its prerogatives.
Article (1) replaces the text of the First Article of the above-mentioned Annex attached to Royal Decree No. 124/2008 with the following text:
“The Commission shall comprise 13 members as follows:- one from the State Council, one from Majlis Al Shura, one from Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, one from the General Federation of Oman Workers, a law practitioner/executive, three members from public associations and five other members representing the Foreign Ministry, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Social Development, the Ministry of Labour and the Environment Authority.”
Article (2) cancels all that contradicts this decree or contravenes its provisions.
Article (3) says that this decree shall be published in the Official Gazette and enforced on the day following its date of publication.
