Initiative for children with disabilities launched

Muscat: The Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs on Monday launched an Endowment Share for Children with Disabilities at the Ministry’s General Diwan.

The inaugural ceremony was held under the auspices of Dr Mohammed Said Al Ma’amari, Ministry’s Under-Secretary, who lauded the efforts made by the State, establishments and individuals to serve children with disabilities and promote their welfare.

“The initiative is testimony to the collaboration of society and solidarity with this segment,” he said.

Her Highness Sayyida Hajija Jaifar Al Said, in-charge of Endowment for Children with Disabilities, expressed her pride at the launch of the endowment which, she said, will benefit all children with disabilities in the Sultanate.

She pointed out that the Endowment Share will help provide tools and alternative equipment, as well as educational, rehabilitation and training programmes and curative services for children with disabilities.
