Fire at hospital in Iraq claims several lives

Muscat: A fire that broke out at a hospital housing several Covid-19 positive patients in Baghdad has resulted in 27 deaths and 46 injuries.

A statement issued online by Oman News Agency (ONA), said that the fire occured due to the explosion of oxygen cylinders being stored at a hospital housing a number of Covid-19 patients in the south of the Iraqi capital of Baghdad."

"Iraq announced three days of mourning following the passing of 27 victims and 46 injuries in  the fire at Ibn Al-Khatib Hospital,” the statement added.
