Muscat: Passengers planning to fly to Oman from three South Asian countries – India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh – will not be able to do so after 6pm this evening.

The decision to prevent entry of passengers travelling from these countries was taken by the Supreme Committee to deal with COVID-19, as part of the measures to stop the spread of the virus in the country. In doing so, the three countries have joined the list of nations from which passengers are not permitted to fly to Oman.

The ruling also applies to passengers who have transited through India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh over the last two weeks.

Exceptions to this rule include Omani nationals, diplomats attached to embassies accredited to the Sultanate, healthcare workers, and their families, who are required to follow the proper COVID precautions on entering the country.
