Registration period for wheat seeds extended in Oman

Muscat: The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources announced an extension of the registration period to obtain wheat seeds of local genetically improved varieties.

The ministry said in a announcement: "In response to the desire of some farmers; the Ministry announces the extension of the reception period for receiving requests from wheat farmers - who have valid agricultural holdings and who wish to benefit from subsidised wheat seeds for genetically improved varieties and plant them in the next season, until Thursday, May 1."
