Royal Oman Police responds to distress call, more than 25 people rescued

Muscat: Royal Oman Police (ROP) has rescued more than 25 people on board from 13 boats after their engines broke down at sea.

A statement issued online by ROP said :"Coast Guard police boats responded to distress calls from 13 boats in the governorates of Muscat, Musandam, North Al Batinah and Dhofar,  (28) people, after their boats' engines broke down at sea and towed them to shore."

 "The Royal Oman Police advises boat owners to carry out regular maintenance of their boats, to take an adequate amount of fuel, and to ensure the presence of safety tools and first aid before going to the sea."the statement added.
