Weekends during the Holy Month of Ramadan are normally meant for elaborate iftar meals, meeting friends and family and sharing some good times. But owing to the ongoing pandemic this year one cannot indulge in any of these activities. So how can we make the weekend still feel special?
Order your Iftar meal
Order from your favourite local restaurant your iftar meal and take a break from cooking. This way you not only get time to relax but also you do a good deed by supporting a local restaurant during these tough times. Restaurants in Oman are doing their best to provide safe options and are keeping all the COVID-19 protocols in place.
Do some gentle exercises
Treat your body well. Do some gentle stretching along with breathing exercises to stay fit. Breathe in through your nose and pull air down into your stomach where your hands are. Try to spread your fingers apart with your breath. Slowly exhale your breath through your nose. Repeat deep breaths for one minute.
Plan a Ramadan to-do list with your children
The Holy Month of Ramadan is the perfect time to set goals for your children. Tell them to read a few pages of the Holy Quran everyday. Encourage them to get involved in volunteering commitments. Share with them real life stories of good deeds and how a simple act of goodness can make a huge difference.
Do volunteer service
Time is always the best gift that you can offer to someone. There are many charitable organisations here. You can join them and make Ramadan more meaningful.
