Continue donating blood during Ramadan: Oman’s DBBS

Muscat: The Department of Blood Bank Services (DBBS) has appealed to all to continue donating blood during the holy month of Ramadan to avoid a shortage in supply.

A statement said, "During the month of Ramadan, the number of blood donors drops dramatically at the Central Blood Bank (Baushar). Donate blood and save lives. Sunday to Thursday between 8 am and 1 pm.”

Blood donors who wish to donate blood at the Central Blood Bank during the restrictions on movement should take the following steps:
 
1. Book a blood donation appointment via WhatsApp 94555648.

2. Submit your information along with a copy of your ID card to the same phone number.

3. A copy of the blood donor permit will be sent to you through WhatsApp after you confirm the appointment reservation, the original permit will be given when you reach the Blood Bank.
