Muscat: The sighting of the Shawwal moon is possible on the night of the 29th of Ramadan in the event of clear weather, and the first day of Eid Al-Fitr is expected to occur on Thursday, May 13, 2021, if the vision is confirmed.
An official from the Astronomical Affairs Department of the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs said in an exclusive statement to The Times of Oman: “Astronomical calculations made about the sighting of the crescent of Shawwal 1442 show:“ The conjunction of the crescent will take place on Tuesday 28 Ramadan, and on Wednesday it will be sunset at 6: 40 o'clock the governorate of Muscat, and the moon will descend at 7:17, and it will stay for about 37 minutes in the sky, and its vision will be possible in the event of a clear sky."
