Muscat: Dr. Bassam Al Khatib, Syrian ambassador accredited to the Sultanate, said that the relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the Syrian Arab Republic were established on deep-rooted historic ties, mutual respect, honesty, sincerity, non-interference in internal affairs of both the countries and the interest of people of both the countries.
In a statement to Oman news Agency, he said that the Sultanate is focused on the future through Oman Vision 2040, and hence Oman looks for partners who could contribute to the same through various efforts.
He said that during his visit to the Sultanate, the two sides have agreed to boost investments and exchange of trade between the two countries.
There are several professional and well-experienced employees and academics working at the various institutions, colleges and universities and projects in the Sultanate, he added.
The ambassador also spoke on the traditions, customs and preparations for the month of Ramadan in both the Syrian Arab Republic and the Sultanate of Oman.
