Muscat: Oman has recorded 14 deaths in the last 24 hours, which is the highest since October 27, 2020, according to data from the Ministry of Health, pointing to a significant rise in new Covid-19 cases in the country.
On Thursday, statistics made available on Tarassud, the coronavirus monitoring app launched by the ministry, showed that the number of those hospitalized during the past 24 hours reached 103, and 267 patients admitted to ICU, bringing the total number of patients admitted to various health institutions to 786 cases, which is the highest since the beginning
of the pandemic.
The Sultanate also recorded 14 deaths during the past 24 hours bringing the total to 1,821 and 1,035 new cases of Coronavirus, according to the daily report of the Ministry of Health.
The Ministry stated that the total number of registered cases in the Sultanate is 176,668 cases, the recovered 156,845, by 88,77 percent, and 1,821 deaths, by 1.4 percent.
While, the total cases currently sick with COVID-19 disease in the Sultanate is 18,002, by 10.18 percent.
Speaking exclusively to Times of Oman, Ibrahim Al Maimani, a social activist and data analyst” For the third consecutive day, the number of daily infections decreased to reach 1,035 cases, which was matched by an increase in the daily recovery cases, as the number of recoveries reached 1,200 cases.”
He confirmed that Hospitalized and intensive care patients are still recording record numbers, as 786 hospitalized patients have been registered, 267 of whom are in intensive care.”
