MUSCAT: Zubair Small Enterprises Centre (Zubair SEC) participated in an online workshop organised by the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) in coordination with the Mediterranean Institute for Asia and Africa (ISMAA) and Embassy of Italy.
The workshop titled 'Improving Oman Italy SMEs partnership and cooperation' aimed to enhance cooperation between the two countries. It also provided an updated picture of the market opportunities in light of the impact of the pandemic. It also helped to establish direct contacts with Omani operators in sectors of mutual interest.
During his presentation Said Al Sahib, Director of Zubair SEC appraised the role of Zubair SEC as a leading institution in the SMEs sector and the part the Centre plays in assisting aspiring entrepreneurs to find a connection with their counterparts abroad.
Said Al Sahib said, “We are pleased to have participated in this constructive workshop which focussed on global cooperation in the SMEs sector. The online workshop aided in improving the partnership between SMEs in Oman and Italy. It allowed participants to know the opportunities that Sultanate can offer to Italian companies and operators interested in partnership and collaborations. Several Omani entities and global organisations participated in the workshop and committed themselves to promote SME investments and development through international cooperation.”
He added, “To achieve our goal of supporting and stimulating the SME sector in Oman, Zubair SEC has built an integrated comprehensive support ecosystem, providing distinguished services such as social impact advisory and guidance, Direct Support Programme and business development opportunities, and contribution to ICV. We regularly participate in platforms that promote the growth of SMEs in the country.”
