Dar Al Atta’a launches project for needy families

Muscat: Dar Al Atta’a Association launched,  ‘My Home; My Shelter’ Programme worth OMR509,815 yesterday for the construction of 11 houses and maintenance of 40 others during 2021 for the needy families in the various governorates.

The launch ceremony was organised under the auspices of Laila bint Ahmed bin Awadh Al-Najar, Minister of Social Development.

Sheikh Rashid bin Ahmed Al Shamsi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Development said that the initiative of ‘My Home; My Shelter’ comes within  the partnership with the civil associations .

“Dar Al Atta’a Association is concerned about the demands and requirements of society,” he said pointing to that the Ministry of Social Development is working on such initiatives for the interest of society.

“There is continued cooperation between the Ministry of Social Development and the charity associations and voluntary teams.” he said, adding that “ there are 58 voluntary teams in the various governorates of the Sultanate which are affiliated to the development committees and are recognised under the umbrella of the Ministry of Social Development.”

Maryam bint Issa Al Zadjali, Chairperson of Dar Al Atta’a Association said: “Since its inception, Dar Al Atta’a has been supporting the needy families.”The family welfare programme receives due concern and attention from the association’s officials who build houses and maintain houses of the needy families, “ she said.

The cases for support is subject to evaluation and consideration in accordance with the system of the Association, she added.
