Over 24000 people benefit from Dar Al Ata charitable initiatives in Oman

Muscat: The number of people in need has increased due to the pandemic, and charities are expanding efforts to meet their needs.

Habib Al Subhi, from the Ministry of Social Development said in an interview with Oman tv;  “Today there are emergency circumstances due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and some families are in need of assistance. Today this segment has begun to expand more and more, and there is a solidarity between all efforts, including the efforts of the private sector."

Dr.Shamsa Al Harithi, General Director of the Dar Al Attaa Association said: “The number of the beneficiaries of the association’s support for those affected by the Corona pandemic exceeds 24,000 people, and this number is expected to increase during the coming period, which requires the opening of other initiatives that include residents as well, but the number of citizens in the current period is much more. "

Dr. Al Harithi added: “The association will have a large upcoming initiative, amounts of which will reach half a million riyals." Sana Al Khanjari, Vice President of Al Rahma Association, announced: "Due to the night closure, the association will launch a new charitable initiative titled ‘People for People’, in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Development, aimed at helping those affected by street vendors and stall owners who practice their work in the night period."

Habib Al Subhi, Director of the Associations and Community Clubs Department at the Ministry of Social Development affirmed: “Civil society has developed its tools to help groups affected by the pandemic by launching several initiatives to support these groups, and the Ministry of Social Development has accelerated the procedures for launching these initiatives and granting the necessary permits for them.”
