Muscat: More than 650 families in Oman, who are part of the soft housing loan program, have been exempted from payments under a package of social protection initiatives announced on Thursday in the Sultanate, the Minister of Housing and Urban Planning said.
His Excellency Dr. Khalfan Al Shuaili, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, confirmed in a tweet the decision to exempt these families from payments under the housing loan program: “A gracious blessing includes the exemption from the soft housing loan program within the package of social protection initiatives, which strengthens the social stability of more than 650 families, and amounts to approximately 20 million OMR.”
He added: "We will work to put it into practice, accelerate achievement and achieve the aspirations of society."
The package of social protection initiatives approved by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik includes the decision that all citizens whose monthly income is less than OMR350 have been exempted from the debts of the soft housing loan program.
