Covid-19: Regional laboratory opened in North Al Batinah

Muscat: The regional laboratory has been inaugurated today in North Al Batinah Governorate under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammad Al Saeedi, Minister of Health.

The regional laboratory located at Sohar Port and FreeZone contributes to accelerating disease diagnostics and receiving timely treatment.

The laboratory has more than 8 devices of  PCR test using modern technologies and the laboratory has a capacity at the present time to perform Covid 19 tests at a rate of 80-100 samples per day.

The cost of the project, which came at the initiative of Sohar Port and Free Zone , and in partnership with six companies amounted to approximately OMR 500,000.

The laboratory is also equipped to provide tests for other infectious diseases so that it simulates the public health laboratory in Darsait.
