Muscat: The entire Adam-Haima-Thumrait dual carriageway is expected to be completed by June 30, the Director of the Roads Department in Al-Wusta Governorate announced.
A statement issued online by Oman News Agency (ONA), said: Adam-Haima-Thumrait dual carriageway is one of the top national projects that the government is focussing on due to its strategic importance at the national and international levels.
Salem bin Hamad Al Junaibi, Director of the Roads Department in Al-Wusta Governorate, said that the Ministry is nearing the completion of the Adam - Haima - Thumrait dual carriageway from the wilayat of Adam to the wilayat of Haima. The work of the first part, the second part and some portion of the third part of the dual carriageway are almost complete.”
Al Junaibi added: “The total length of road that had been opened to traffic so far in three parts amounted to 280 km out of 317 km. The project started from the wilayat of Adam in Al Dakhiliya Governorate to the wilayat of Haima in Al Wusta Governorate.”
He hoped that an additional 20 km will be opened this April, while 17 km of the remaining part, and the entire project up to Haima is expected to be completed by June 30.
