Muscat: On behalf of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs, today presided over the closing ceremony of His Majesty the Sultan's Camel Cup Festival 2025.
The event was held at the Royal Camel Corps Racecourse in Al Fuleij, Wilayat of Barka. The festival was organised by the Royal Court Affairs, represented by the Royal Camel Corps.
The final day of the festival included 6 rounds. "Makhayil" of the Royal Camel Corps won His Majesty the Sultan Camel Cup for the second year in a row. It secured the score during the fifth round, a stretch of 8 kilometres.
Second place went to the Royal Camel Corps "Rahiya", followed in third place by Al Bashayer Camels’ "Al Reef".
In between the races, Omani heritage bands entertained members of the public with folklore performances, coupled with camel shows presented by the Royal Camel Corps, including the Ardha runs, camel polo and camel cart racing, while Al Azzi art tableau sealed the finale.
At the closing ceremony, HH Sayyid Shihab handed over the trophies to the top winners of the festival's rounds.
The closing ceremony of the festival was attended by Royal Family members, ministers and senior officials.
